Soft Christmas Cookies

Mix 1 cup of sour cream  and 1 tsp baking soda; set aside.  Beat 1 cup softened butter and 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy.  Add 2 eggs; mix well.  Blend in 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1 tsp. vanilla and sour cream mixture.  Gradually add 4 cups of flour, beating well after each addition.  Refrigerate 30 min. Heat oven to 350ºF.  Drop tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 10 to 12 min. or just until centers are set and edges are lightly browned.  Let stand on baking sheets 3 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely. Mix powdered sugar and milk until blended; spread onto cookies. Let stand until frosting is firm. ADD Chocolate frosting,  sprinkles,  coconut,  food coloring, mini chocolate chips

4 CUPS MEAT DRIPPINGS SET ASIDE 1.  MELT 1 STICK OF BUTTER (1/2 CUP) IN PAN OR POT 2.  SLOWLY ADD 1/2 CUP FLOUR STIRRING 3.  SLOWLY ADD THE 4 CUPS OF MEAT DRIPPINGS.     (IF YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH ADD BROTH) 4.  ADD SEASONINGS  (I ADD GARLIC POWDER, SALT AND PEPPER) For Biscuits and Gravy: Cook sausage and remove from pan Add 1 stick of butter to drippings Add 1/2 cup flour Add 3 cups of milk Add garlic powder, pepper Add sausage back into pan

Mam's Chicken and Dumplins

Directions: Large can cream of chicken soup 1/2 cup milk Add veggies if you like Add chicken (cooked breast or roasted chicken from store cut up) Stir together and put on medium Directions for dumplins Stir 2cups of Bisquick and 2/3 cup milk until soft dough forms. Drop by spoonfuls onto boiling stew; reduce heat. Cook uncovered 10 minutes. Cover and cook 10 minutes.

best turkey ever

Ingredients 1 (18 pound) whole turkey, neck and giblets removed 2 cups kosher salt 1/2 cup butter, melted 2 large onions, peeled and chopped 4 carrots, peeled and chopped 4 stalks celery, chopped 2 sprigs fresh thyme 1 bay leaf 1 cup dry white wine Directions Rub the turkey inside and out with the kosher salt. Place the bird in a large stock pot, and cover with cold water. Place in the refrigerator, and allow the turkey to soak in the salt and water mixture 12 hours, or overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Thoroughly rinse the turkey, and discard the brine mixture. Brush the turkey with 1/2 the melted butter. Place breast side down on a roasting rack in a shallow roasting pan. Stuff the turkey cavity with 1 onion, 1/2 the carrots, 1/2 the celery, 1 sprig of thyme, and the bay leaf. Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge

2 pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, broken into small pieces 3/4 cup canned sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup PLANTERS COCKTAIL Peanuts, chopped 1-1/2 pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S White Chocolate (6 oz.), broken into small pieces 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter Line 8-inch square pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Microwave semi-sweet chocolate and milk in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until chocolate is almost melted, stirring after 1 min. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared pan; spread to evenly cover bottom of pan. Microwave white chocolate in separate microwaveable bowl 1-1/2 min. or until chocolate is almost melted, stirring after 1 min. Stir until completely melted. Add peanut butter; stir until melted. Spread over semi-sweet chocolate layer in pan. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm. Use foil handles

Addie's Cornbread

Addie's Cornbread 2 cups corn meal 1/2 cup flour 4 tsp baking powder 1 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup sugar 2 cups milk 3 Tbls oil 2 eggs (unbeaten) Mix ingredients in order and pour in a greased and floured oblong pan. Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes. Toothpick should come out clean. Enjoy ladies!!!!

Karla's Garlicky Shrimp Alfredo

0 INGREDIENTS 10 oz. penne 3 tbsp. butter 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 lb. medium or large shrimp, peeled and deveined 3 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour 3/4 c. milk 1/4 c. low-sodium chicken broth 1 c. shredded mozzarella 1/4 c. plus 2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan Freshly ground black pepper 2 large tomatoes, chopped (about 1 cup) DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook penne according to package directions until al dente. Drain and return to pot. Meanwhile, in a large ovenproof skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Add garlic, shrimp, and 2 tablespoons parsley. ROAST TURKEY AND GRAVY

DIRECTIONS Roast turkey:  Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Rinse turkey inside and out with cold running water and drain well; pat dry with paper towels. Place turkey, breast side up, in large roasting pan. Fold wing tips under back of turkey.  Scatter half of carrots , half of onions , and half of sprig of fresh  thyme in pan around turkey . In small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp. dried rosemary, parsley, garlic salt, 2 teaspoons salt, and 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, 2 cubes softened unsalted butter. Rub half of herb mixture inside body and neck cavities; rub remaining herb mixture all over outside of turkey. Place remaining carrots, onions, and thyme in turkey. Fold neck skin under back of turkey; secure drumsticks together with band of skin, stuffing clamp, or kitchen string. Cover turkey with loose tent of foil; roast 2 1/2 hours. In and Out Burgers!!!! INGREDIENTS 4 tbsp. vegetable oil, divided 1 c. Onions, finely chopped kosher salt 1/4 c. mayonnaise 1 tbsp. ketchup 1 tbsp. sweet pickle relish 1 tsp. white vinegar 1/2 tsp. sugar 4 thin ground beef patties, about 1/2-in thick 2 tsp. yellow mustard 4 slices American cheese 2 white hamburger buns Lettuce, for serving 4 pickle chips cooked frozen french fries, for serving (optional) Heat 2 tbsp. of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes. If the onions are browning too quickly, turn down the heat and add a splash of water. Set aside onions and wipe the skillet clean. Clam Linguini

"Quick and Easy! Can be used when you forget to take something else out of the freezer. You can use water instead of the clam juice, if you like." Ingredients 1 (16 ounce) package linguini pasta 1 tablespoon olive oil 3 cloves garlic, minced 2 (6.5 ounce) cans minced clams, with juice 1/4 cup clam juice or water 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley salt to taste ground black pepper to taste opt. Italian Seasoning Milk and flour to thicken parmasan onion bacon   Directions In a large pot with boiling salted water cook linguini pasta until al dente. Meanwhile, in a medium sized saucepan using medium heat cook olive oil and minced garlic until garlic is translucent. Add chopped clams, clam juice or water, and chopped parsley. CHICKEN SOUP Put in a pot: Rotisserie Chicken (cut up) Carrots  (sliced) Celery  (sliced) Potatoes (optional) Add: 1 can chicken broth Water to cover 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Pepper Garlic Salt Onion Flakes Thyme Lipton Onion Soup Mix (1/2) 2 chicken broth cubes Boil until veggies done Pasta is optional

Bisquick Baked Chicken

Ingredients 1 tablespoon butter or margarine 2/3 cup Original Bisquick™ mix 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika 1 1/4 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 cut-up whole chicken (3 to 3 1/2 pounds) Directions 1   Heat oven to 425°F. Melt butter in rectangular baking dish,  13x9x2 inches, in oven. 2   Stir together Bisquick, paprika, salt and pepper; coat chicken.  Place skin sides down in dish (dish and butter should be hot). 3   Bake 35 minutes; turn chicken. Bake about 15 minutes longer  or until juice is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut.

Blacks Vegetable Beef Soup

Lanny and Joyce made up a recipe today.  Lanny named it Black Soup.... our last name.  It isn't really black. lol!  It is basically a vegetable beef soup. It was so tasty, too! Set in Crock Pot: Sliced Carrots (we did about 5....love carrots) 2 celery stalks sliced Potatoes (peeled and diced) You can add canned or frozen corn or frozen peas if  you want. Anything goes! Brown in oil: Cut up beef (we get a chuck roast...cheaper than a pack of stew meat and you get more meat) Add pepper and garlic salt to meat Diced up onion small Keep Adding: Put drippings and 4 cups of beef broth in crock pot Add meat Lipton Onion Soup Mix A couple tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce Turn on high for an hour ADD NOODLES IF YOU LIKE Turn down to low for 6-7 more hours ...

Chocolate and PB cookes

4 oz cream cheese softened (1/2 package) 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter 2 eggs Devils Food Cake Mix 375 Degrees Mix first 3 ingredients on low. Add cake mix on medium speed until soft dough forms Shape into 44 small balls and place 2 inches apart and flatten Crisscross with sugar dipped fork. Bake 7-8 minutes until just edges of cookie done (do not overbake) Cool on baking sheet 2 minutes Continue cooling on iron rack

cinnamon crescent twists

Cinnamon Crescent Twists   Print Ingredients 2 TB sugar 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 can (8 oz) crescent rolls 3 TB melted butter Instructions Preheat oven to 375. Unroll your crescent dough and lay down as 4 rectangles on a greased cookie sheet making sure you press the triangles together to form the rectangles. Mix together your sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside. Spread melted butter onto 2 of the rectangles and sprinkle a little less than half the cinnamon/sugar mixture onto those rectangles. Take the two non-buttered rectangles and put those on top of your buttered and cinnamon/sugar rectangles. Press edges together. Cut both triangles into 6 strips and top with any reserve melted butter. Twist each strip a few times and spread onto cookie sheet. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon and sugar. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Breakfast Cup

RECIPE: Yields 6 bacon egg cups - 3 slices of bread - 3 Tbsp. shredded cheese - 6 slices of bacon, cooked - 6 eggs - Salt & pepper With a jar or cookie cutter, cut 2 circles into each piece of bread. Place in muffin tin cups.  Wrap a piece of cooked bacon along the edge of each muffin cup—make sure the bacon is JUST cooked and still warm, so it doesn’t break or crumble.  Sprinkle 1/2 Tbsp. cheese into each cup, then top with an egg.  Season with salt & pepper, and bake at 400°F for 15 min (longer for firmer yolk). Top with green onion.

Easy Crab Stuffed Bacon Wrapped shrimp

Ingredients- 1 1⁄2 lbs peeled extra large peeled raw shrimp 2 pre-made crab cakes 1 lb bacon Assembly directions- Pinch off about 2 teaspoons of crab cake for each shrimp. Cut bacon into thirds. Wrap each shrimp and crab with bacon. Store in large container with lid using wax paper between layers. Cooking directions- Place shrimp on large baking sheet in single layer. (use a wire rack if you have one). Bake 450 degrees for 15-20 minutes until bacon is crisp and shrimp is cooked.

Breakfast Enchiladas

1/4-1/2 lb deli sliced ham (8-12 slices) 1 ½  C. shredded Mexican cheese blend 8-12 flour tortillas 1- 1½  C. half & half 6 eggs 1 T flour ½ C. shredded Mexican cheese blend. Place one slice of ham on each flour tortilla (assembly line style). Top each tortilla equally with cheese. Roll and place in 9×13 baking dish sprayed with non stick spray. Top with remaining cheese. Add next 3 ingredients to blender and blend.  I used a blender bottle because I did not want the big blender in the refrigerator.  You know, the kind with the little spring ball inside that you use for protein shakes.  This way you get your workout in while you cook. All I could think of when shaking this was the commercial for the “Shake Weight”.  Makes me laugh out loud every time I see it. Pour egg mixture over enchiladas.  If making ahead, pour egg mixture over enchiladas right before baking.   Bake covered ...
